Series of ceremonies in Gampaha commemorating Children’s Day

A series of special ceremonies commemorating World Children’s Day was held on 1 October in Gampaha under the patronage of Attorney-at-Law Pushpa Rajapaksa, Chairperson of Liya Abiman Organisation.
A large number of school children were present on these occasions held at the Gampaha Municipal Grounds and Moragoda Wimala Dharmasuriya Kanishta Vidyalaya, commemorating World Children’s Day.
Various sports events were organised at the ceremony held at the Gampaha Municipal Grounds, sponsored by Gampaha Mayor Eranga Senanayake. Schoolchildren from Gampaha who had achieved highest results at the Grade 5 Scholarship examination were presented with prizes.
At the ceremony concurrently held in Moragoda Wimala Dharmasuriy Kanishta Vidyalaya, various items displaying art skills were presented by its students.
A large gathering including Chairman of Western Provincial Council Sunil Wijeratne was present.
