Shopping feast

A wave of heat hit us as we unfolded ourselves out of the tuk-tuk and stepped out under the hot midday sun onto the steep steps leading up to the Colpetty market. My friend who made the shocking announcement that she had never been to the market earlier in the week which had culminated in this impromptu visit, wrinkled her nose as the smell of raw fish wafted out and made a move to get back into the tuk-tuk and escape what she felt was a wholly unnecessary visit.
