“At The Nail Anatomy we believe in a comprehensive approach to your beauty. From the moment you enter The Nail Anatomy you will be immersed in an oasis of luxury and refinement, a haven for your health and a celebration of your beauty. Your hands reveal your age, your state of health and your attitude towards yourself. Working on this premise we are driven by our desire to provide a Lifestyle, not just a service,” said Meili Lin Mather, a young Singaporean, the holder of a Masters Degree in Applied Finance.
The Nail Anatomy is her brainchild, driven by her passion to uplift standards in nail culture and introduce world class products and services to the discerning Sri Lankan clientele.
New dimension
to nail culture
She was speaking at the opening of her dedicated nail bar, The Nail Anatomy, located within the tranquil environs of Lakpahana, opposite the Race Course. The Nail Anatomy gives a whole new dimension to nail culture in Sri Lanka, with an ambiance that is inviting, fun, modern and of course state-of-the-art.
“We are bringing the latest technology in nail art which allows you to take pictures of yourself and print them on to your nails, or take a photo of the prints on your outfit and print them on your nails. This amazing convenience will allow you to match your nails with your outfit in a jiffy and it’s great for corporate events as well,” said Meili.
Many well-known personalities were present at the opening, including Sangeetha, Koluu, Padma Maharaja, Kirthi Sri Karunaratne and others.
Range of services
At The Nail Anatomy, the services range from gentle soothing massages that help stimulate blood flow and improve flexibility, through to the exfoliation of dead skin, calluses and prevention of fungal growth; every treatment at The Nail Anatomy is tailor made to leave you feeling on top of the world.
“With beautiful nails and skin comes a sense of inner confidence and beauty that will radiate from within you,” said Meili.
“We do everything related to nails and provide foot reflexology, back, shoulder and hand massages. The concept is that ladies can hang out together in a ‘chic’ atmosphere, watch chick flicks together and have food and drinks, which is why we allow the space to be booked for hen nights or parties. We will also be having a cafe which will serve Singapore’s favourite Kaya Toast and coffee. We will also offer cake pops. More food will be added eventually such as light bites and ice creams. Those young at heart could have a ball at the café’s tables, as they can doodle away on the chalkboard tables. We want to be the epitome of a fun and luxurious lifestyle, including Japanese standards of service levels.”
Best brands
The Nail Anatomy’s treatments use only the best brands available. These products are known for their high quality materials and formaldehyde free formulas. Choose from over 500 of the freshest and latest colour selections. The extensive range represents the luxurious cutting edge of nail fashion.
At The Nail Anatomy, you enter a world of Indulgence, pampering and refinement. From the modern décor through to the premium brands and luxurious treatments, the focus is on providing you with a nail spa experience like no other. Soothing, relaxing music helps create the perfect atmosphere for your spa experience to begin.
When hiring The Nail Anatomy for a private event, the Spa is closed to the public, giving you and your guests exclusive access to all the services and facilities.
Exciting experiences
The Nail Anatomy also hopes to roll out exciting, pampering, experiences for ladies, such as the 24k gold or hyaluronic anti-ageing facials, which will be teamed up with top of the line spa manicures/pedicures which use CND.
“We will have a happy hour package from 5-7 p.m. offering a quick pick-me-up which includes a cold eye massage using qi gong balls, plus nail colour change and one complimentary alcoholic shooter,” said Meili.

Nadine’s focus on skincare gained her an advanced diploma in beauty therapies and spa management from the prestigious Australian Academy of Beauty Therapy and the Ella Bache Institute Paris, France. She is Managing Director of Faceforward Ltd., which is the sole agent for Ella Bache, Paris in Sri Lanka.
Focused on tailor made skincare prescriptions, Ella Bache provides precise and adopted solutions to meet individual needs through a range of professional treatments and organic based products.
Meili also stressed the fact that at The Nail Anatomy, all customers would be treated equally. “We would like people to understand that all customers will be treated the same and that everything is on a first come first serve basis.”
First impressions
are vital
Education is another important factor, namely educating the public on hygiene and international standards and doing things differently, based on international standards. According to Meili, the industry abounds with misconceptions. Self worth according to Meili is also of paramount importance. “To inculcate in people the fact that personal grooming should be part of their daily lives, as first impressions are vital.”
