Indu Dharmasena’s latest comedy “Snow Knight and the Seven Chicks” is scheduled to be staged at the Lionel Wendt Theatre on the 10, 11 and 12 December 2010 at 7.30pm. The show on 11 December will be presented by the Rotary Club Regal and the proceeds are in aid of their community service projects.
Indu gave a twist to the famous fairy tale “Cinderella” and gave you the hilarious pantomime “Cinderfella”, which had the Colombo audiences in fits of laughter. Has he done it again? Has Indu twisted the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs? No! “Snow Knight and the Seven Chicks” is a combination of a few fairy tales mixed with King Arthur, Merlin and Camelot. With a few dances and lots of fun, it is really a fairy tale with a twist for adults.
This new hilarious play revolves around Gunther, who is the rightful heir to the throne of Bangalot. Gunthur who is also known as “Snow knight” as he is the last virgin Knight left in the Kingdom. He has less than 48 hours to find a bride before his devious stepfather, Baron Von Hardnut, who is the present Caretaker Executive Ruler, declares himself as the permanent Executive Ruler of Bangalot. So with the help of his teacher, Merlin and Vivian, the lady of the Beire Lake, the Search for the Mega Bride begins.
The cast comprises of Indu Dharmasena as King Gunthur, Abbasalli Rozais as Merlin, Sanjana Selvaraja as Queen Josephine and Gehan Cooray as Baron Von Hardnut. Some of the Knights of the square table are brought to life by Jeeves Goonetilleke as Sir Prancealot, Jayan Goonetilleke as Sir Dancealot, Wasaam Ismail as Sir Rigalot, Dilshan Perera as Sir Digalot and George Cooke as Sir Talkalot. The seven chicks are played by Koluu as Vivien, Lady of the Berie Lake, Sanwada Dharmasena as Anya Lovington, Krys Sosa as Gloria Hugenkiss, Michelle Herft as Veronica Fairchild, Ruwendi Wakwella as Bianca Marcos, Sasa Vallendar as Delilah Samson and Lehana Peiris as Serena Shyworth.
