Sri Lanka’s popular karaoke lounge and bar Sopranos recently celebrated its ninth anniversary, and promises to keep the music alive for many more years to come.
“We’ve reached a significant milestone in our business because of our loyal customers and we promise to continue to provide the party lovers of Colombo with the best in terms of entertainment at Sopranos,” stated Dana Forster, founder and owner of Sopranos.
She also said that as part of the efforts to provide greater quality, they have upgraded their sound system and added a host of new music, including latest hits, to their over 14,000 karaoke songs list. Beverage and snacks menus too have been revamped to offer a greater variety of taste and flavours.
The humble beginnings of Sopranos dates back to 2003 when Dana built on a simple idea, supported by her belief that singing is not simply a passion, but a way of life. This gave rise to the transformation of an unused store room into an unmissable karaoke bar today that’s now become a hotspot for Colombo’s party-goers.
Her idea to create a place ‘where people could let loose and just sing’ has established an ambiance of comfort that has fostered a base of clientele who have become devoted to the pub. She calls it a home away from home.
Sopranos, located at 29C Maitland Crescent, Colombo 07, (next to CH&FC) is open from Tuesdays to Saturdays, offering you entertainment to suit your every mood and requirement, and is also available for private functions.
