Fit N’ Fun is the longest fitness run ever to be held in Sri Lanka. It will reach each of the 25 district capitals covering over 2,100km from 10 March to 3 April. The focus of the event is to promote awareness of the forthcoming Asian Body Building Championships 2014 to be held in Colombo in June 2014. Fitness is the most important factor in every sport and bodybuilding is in the apex position for all sports as it enhances strength. Healthy body and healthy mind goes hand in hand and keeping fit is fun. Fit N’ Fun 2014 promotes these concepts and creates awareness of the event in June. A specially trained team of 25 runners will be seen in action along the entire race route in batches. Fitness enthusiasts, youth, school children and community groups will join the parade as it enters a town. Then the parade will proceed to a public place in the respective town where the reception will be held. Mini events, displays, short talks, competitions and entertainment activities are lined up to create a festive atmosphere. Objectives: Raise public awareness of Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships, Colombo 2014; promoting the scenic picturesque locations in Sri Lanka; increase health and fitness awareness; provide a high level of involvement to all participants and public; and to encourage youth to be repeatedly involved in fitness and fun activities Participants: 25 dedicated runners, regional level SLBBFF officials and members, fitness enthusiasts, youth and school children. The course: Fit N’ Fun offers mostly flat and extremely scenic course spread over 2,000km across Sri Lanka.
