Steam Boat Restaurant launches latest food packaging solutions

At present almost every food packaging material available in the country is either made of Styrofoam or cardboard. These packaging solutions almost always cause food to spill and turn cold.

Also Styrofoam has become a banned material in many countries mainly due to the fact that it is hazardous to health. The Steam Boat Restaurant has stepped forward to find a solution to the food industry’s packaging troubles by introducing a new form of packaging solutions using the latest Japanese technologies to the local market. At present the Steam Boat Restaurant which is a family run business is 12 years in the food industry.

The Steam Boat Restaurant specializes in both Japanese and Chinese foods where takeaway and deliveries are also provided. The restaurant’s head office is located in Nawala and branches are operational in the areas of Colombo, Attidiya and Mt. Lavinia.

“The material that we are using for our packaging purposes is of high quality and presents no health hazards. Also with this particular packaging the food is ready to be laid on the table. Also when warm food is packaged the special anti fog layer in the packaging keeps the food fresh and warm. This type of packaging is ideal especially with regards to Japanese cuisine as it requires an immense amount of attention to detail with regards to presentation. Although this method of food packaging is costly we are not charging our customers for it but are absorbing this cost by our organization as we want our customers to get the maximum benefit”, says Sheron Fernando, Director of the Steam Boat Restaurant.

Among the many packaging solutions offered the Bento Box has become popular with regards to the packaging of set Japanese takeaway lunches. The Bento Box comes with two locking systems and offers divided compartments where curries and salads etc. can be stored separately.
