She further stated that this year’s theme ‘Sunsilk Experts’ adds a distinct countenance to the workshops as it blends well with the brand proposition which stem from Sunsilk Co-Creations platform, where international experts have contributed to the improvement of the brand.
Through the professionally designed ‘Experts’ workshops Sunsilk aims to arm the participants with the required know-how on hair care and treatment, skin care, grooming, etc., with the support of leading hairdressers and beauticians across the country.
Jude Martino, Brand Manager, Sunsilk describing the dynamics of the workshops, said; “The ‘Sunsilk Experts’ program this year will have two platforms for competitions. First will be for aspiring beauticians to portray their talents in hair and beauty care. 16 finalists selected from the four regions will be awarded with prestigious Ramani Fernando Academy scholarships while they get to compete at the grand finale that will be conducted in Colombo. The second competition is open for the young ladies who visit to witness the program. Out of them the best groomed 12 finalists will be selected from the four regions as ‘Sunsilk Hedakaris’ and will get to participate in a beauty pageant to be held in Colombo simultaneous to the hair show.
The overall winners of both the competitions are destined to receive fabulous cash prizes and trophies.”
Speaking about the program, hair-care expert Sheela Fernando, President of The Professional Hairdressers and Beauticians Association (PHABA), said: “We are happy to be associated with Sunsilk for the 10th consecutive year in its drive to bring professional knowledge on hair-care from the urban town centres to the rural masses. We believe that by educating the end consumer and enhancing the knowledge of the hair care professionals, we would be able create more awareness and consciousness of the need for grooming and how one’s appearance can provide greater confidence.”
Sunsilk is the number one hair-care brand within the Unilever Sri Lanka’s portfolio and ranks as one of the Anglo-Dutch conglomerate’s “billion dollar brands”.
