Influenced by various cultures from around the world, Malaysian cuisine is a symphony of flavours. As a result of historical migrations and Malaysia’s geographical advantage, Malaysia’s culinary style is a mixture of Malay, Chinese, Indian, Thai and Arabian cuisines amongst others, making the cuisine highly exotic. As Malaysian Cuisine has become an international food of choice amongst many diners across the world, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo transforms its dining room dinner buffet, from its regular international theme to a Malaysian one.
Malaysian Cuisine as a national cuisine has evolved through the centuries. Amongst Malaysian staples are rice, noodles, bread, beef, mutton, seafood, fish, vegetables and tropical fruits such as durian, rambutan, mangosteen, mango, longan and guava. With a variety of new distinctively creative flavours all diners can look forward to a culinary experience like no other. Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo brings to all its diners an array of aromatic and beautiful dishes that give guests from across the world an authentic dining experience. The authenticity of the Malaysian cuisine will be ensured by a team of Guest Chefs from The Saujana Hote, Kuala Lumpur. Chef Ah Teong, Chef Mohd Khair and Chef Suhaimi fly down from Kaula Lumpur exclusively for Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo’s celebration of Malaysian cuisine. All three chefs have years of experience in preparing star class Malaysian cuisine and have been instrumental in maintaining the reputation of The Saujana Hotel’s local cuisine. Amongst the Malaysian dishes diners will experience soups such as Soupekor mamk, an Indian style ox-tail soup; Supdaging rawan istimewa, beef spare ribs soup and Soupayam berampah, Malaysian chicken broth. Main dishes will include Rendang daging, Braised beef in rendang sauce; Ayam masak merah, Braised chicken in chili tomato sauce; Udang masak lada hitam, Stir fried prawn with black pepper sauce; Inchi kabin, Nyinya fried chicken; Udang masak lemak nanas, pineapple prawns curry and Jiu hu char and mixed vegetables with cuttlefish amongst others. An action station will also serve Charkuey teow, fried flat rice noodles à la minute, whilst desserts will include Bubur kacang hijau, Bubur cha cha, Aneka agar agar, Onde onde, Ketayap and Pancake rolls with sweet coconut. The mouthwatering array of Malaysian dishes will grace the dinner buffet from 17 to 26 May 2013, at The Dining Room from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Priced at Rs. 2,555 all inclusive per person, it is an affordable and authentic way to explore the delicacies of Malaysia.
