Alka Yagnik, the melody queen of the Indian silver screen and ranked as one of the best playback singers of all time, was warmly welcomed by Taj Samudra Executive Assistant Manager Jitendra Chand and the team last morning. The traditional Sri Lankan dancing troupe of the Sri Lanka Army performed a welcome dance on her arrival at the Taj Samudra Lobby. Yagnik will dazzle her fans at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on Sunday 26 October at the concert. Taj Samudra Colombo is the Hospitality Partner for this event which is organised by the Sri Lanka Army Head Quarters – Mercury Club to generate funds needed for infrastructure developments to alleviate the living standards of serving soldiers and also to assist the families of fallen war heroes.
