Relish the tastes of Turkey as the Cinnamon Grand brings you a truly traditional feast until 3 November. On from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Courtyard Restaurant and priced at Rs. 2000 (plus taxes), the promotion will feature the culinary creations of two master chefs from Turkey.
Turkish cuisine is doubtlessly one of the country’s greatest treasures. Rich in history and heritage, its cuisine is a culmination on flavours evolved over the centuries with the merging of the culinary cultures of many communities and civilisations. Cinnamon Grand pays tribute to this famous fare with authentic food and ambiance that imbue the flavours of the Mediterranean.
Indulgent buffet
Chefs Hakan Atalay and Hüseyin Özdolambay, in Sri Lanka for the promotion, have a gamut of tricks up their sleeves as they whip up an indulgent buffet with eleven appetisers, eight salads, two soups, sixteen mains, a variety of Turkish breads and twelve desserts as well as live action stations that provide for an authentic experience.
Start off with an array of appetisers including dishes such as Hindi Füme (spice and sumac marinated smoked turkey breast), Günün Dolma Aynasi (spiced minced meat stuffed aubergine, tomatoes and zucchinis), Ahtapot Salatasi (paprika and pomegranate vinaigrette marinated squid salad) and Peynir Salatasi (cheese salad with preserved lime and olive oil dressing).
Sip on the soups on offer such as Tavuklu Mantar Çorbasi (mushroom and chicken soup with red pepper emulsion) and Şehriyeli Dormatss Çorbasi (tomato and vermicelli soup topped with cheese and parsley foam)
Traditional fare
Savour a variety of traditional meat (chicken, beef and lamb) and seafood kebabs made fresh at the action stations as well as an assortment of Turkish dishes such as Bildircin Dolma (stuffed quail with aromatic herbs, rice and minced meat), Adinbudu Köfte (sumac flavoured rice and meat frikadelles with spicy tomato sauce), Kuzu Incik Haşlama (braised lamb shank with peppers, zucchini and artichoke), Bulgur Pilavi (saffron flavoured cracked wheat pilau) and Karides Guvec (prawn stew with tomato and coriander garnished with cheese)- and much more. Rest assured, vegetarians have not been forgotten, with a selection of popular Turkish salads and veggie dishes available.
Save the best for last and indulge in some tempting Turkish treats including Samsa Tatlisi (walnut and pistachio encased filo pastry), Hoşafi, Kayisi, Üzüm, Elma (apricot, raisin and apple compote), assorted Baklava and Turkish Delights. End your feast with a platter of assorted Turkish Peynir (cheese) as well as a cup or two of vitalising Turkish coffee.
