The Animals and Children took to the Streets

Four years after their multi-award winning, critically acclaimed debut Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, 1927 return with its follow up show The Animals and Children took to the Streets. Seamlessly synchronising live music, performance and storytelling with stunning films and animation, this wickedly twisted show comes to Colombo for two performances on 28 and 29 February at the British School in Colombo auditorium, following a world premiere at Sydney Opera House and sell-out, critically acclaimed seasons in Sydney, Melbourne, London, Perth, Paris and the Edinburgh Festival 2011.

Workshops:



‘Storytelling and the Stage’: conducted by Suzanne Andrade. Participants must be interested in exploring and participating in creative writing, and creating stories for performing. It could involve some acting. Participants: 13 -16 age-group. Date: Friday 2 March. Time: 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. at British Council hall, Colombo.

‘Working with Animation’: 1927 members will explore the integration of performance and film, explore the participants’ own practices and aspirations. It will include demonstrations and a detailed and active question, answer and discussion session. Participants: innovative film makers, animation artists and actors.
