For the very first time in Sri Lanka, Colombo Jewellery Stores introduces ‘The Art of Fusion’ synonymous with the beautiful works of art that adorn the wrists of some of the world’s most famous celebrities including legendary actors, sportspeople and corporate icons. When award winning Bollywood actress and CJS Brand Ambassador Jacqueline Fernandez recently launched Hublot in Sri Lanka, she wore a captivating big bang 38 cappuccino gold and diamond Hublot watch from the Big Bang Collection, adding even more glamour to the artfully appointed store and its unique designer products. Hublot wristwatches have gained unprecedented endorsement for its recherché craftsmanship, constant innovation and leading luxury fashion by some of the world’s most celebrated leading fashion and accessory opinion makers, movers and shakers. Coming under the banner of French Group LVMH, a world leader in luxury products, the CJS ethos of pioneering creativity, timeless elegance and exquisite craftsmanship is married brilliantly to this art of fusion, which is the Hublot hallmark. With the CJS story beginning at the turn of the century, Managing Director Akram Cassim has always been conscious of retaining the underlying philosophy of his grandfather’s vision of presenting the fashion conscious men and women of Sri Lanka masterpieces in creativity and luxury that will be emblematic of each individual’s personality and style. “With CJS becoming the sole agent for Hublot wristwatches in Sri Lanka, we are not simply adding a globally renowned luxury brand into our portfolio, but we are also presenting unparalleled quality, state of the art craftsmanship and luxurious sophistication within a true work of art. Hublot wristwatches are masterpieces in themselves, beginning from its genesis in 1980 when for the first time in the history of watch making Hublot invented a watch that used polished and brushed gold in a porthole-shaped casing, a minimalist black dial and a bracelet in natural black rubber.” Akram adds that with the arrival into the Hublot Offices in 2004 of Jean Claude Biver now the Chairman of Hublot’s Administrative Board, given that Biver is known to have left an indelible mark on Swiss watch making, Hublot began a meteoric rise, becoming collector’s items, partnering global events and being conferred a surfeit of prestigious awards over the years. The designer flair that’s synonymous with Hublot is amply reflected in the extensive product range that has seen the brand notch some exciting brand ambassadors who assuredly echo the brand’s values and creativity tenets. Hublot adorns the wrists of national sports treasure and football hero Pele, Usain Bolt the fastest man in the world, Indian spin bowler Harbhajan Singh, the epitome of an all-male sports star Miami Heat basketball player Dwayne Wade and Mexican entrepreneur, actress and TV presenter Jacky Bracamontes. This further endorses Hublot to being the watch of choice among those who shape sport, fashion and global opinion. These endorsements then extended to the sporting arena when Hublot began etching its associations with many a sport including Ferrari’s AyrtonSenna in car racing, Polo Club Gstaad, ESF Courchevel in skiing, Real Club Nautico De Palma in sailing and GugaKuerten in Tennis.  Having entered the football field in 2007 by customising a Big Bang watch for the Mexican Football Federation, Hublot had quick success, rising to the top of the sporting world as Official Timekeeper and Official Watch include the FIFA World Cup for 2010 and 2014 which also notched a world’s first in World Cup Football history when Hublot gained a presence on the substitution board, EUFA Euro 2008 and 2012, the World Ski Championships 2011, the China Open Polo Tournament 2013, Spain’s XLII Sotogrande Polo Tournament  and the Polo Gold Cup Gstaad 2013.  Legendary football clubs Manchester United, Dutch football club AFC Ajax, one of Europe’s most successful clubs FC Bayern Munich, French Ligue 1 Champions Paris Saint-Germain and the CNN Football Club have also seen Hublot etch its signature as Official Timekeeper and Official Watch.  Most of these and other sporting events have been earmarked with the launch of a specially designed watch, while one of the more famous customised limited editions created by Hublot was the King Power Maradona for football icon Diego Maradona. The art of fusion runs strongly in the creative backbone of Hublot, where luxury designer editions like the Classic Diver, the Classic Chronograph, the Elegant line with its more minimalistic design, the Classic Fusion collection, the Big Bang All Black with its totally innovative invisible visibility, the King Power Collection and the exclusively designed Big Bang range for women with its gem-set bezel devoid of a chronograph have all indelibly created its own mark in Hublot’s three decade history.  As Akram reiterated: “We’ve always believed in exceeding our customers’ aspirations in giving them more than their expectations. This means giving them the best choices available, whether it’s in our exquisitely crafted quality jewellery collections or in introducing international brands of accessories that truly reflect individual style and timeless elegance. “Hublot is well aligned with the CJS culture and ethos given that it is endorsed by not just icons and legends the world over, but also through the prestigious awards it has been conferred around the world. This proves beyond doubt that CJS is very emphatic of not only adding sophistication, creativity and glamour to an individual’s style and personality, but also in ensuring that quality, craftsmanship and innovation remain the backbone of everything we offer.”
