Cantaloupe officially announced its expansion plans for the next upcoming year; which outlines their strategy for their retail, hospitality, design and jewelry divisions.
Cantaloupe has been in existence for a few years now and has become a prominent player in numerous fields via its creations, investments and projects, such as Amuseum, Cantaloupe Aqua, Cantaloupe Jewels etc.
“After two years, Cantaloupe’s business model has proven to be a success, which has subsequently led the stakeholders to set in motion the grand expansion plan of Cantaloupe and Co.,” says Founder and Managing Director, Dmitri Jayasuriya.
The Cantaloupe business model is based on decentralisation, which has enabled the group to expand into four independent divisions. The Cantaloupe business portfolio now consists of Cantaloupe Villas, Cantaloupe Jewels, Cantaloupe Boutique and Exotic Melon (which specialises in Graphic and Spatial Design).
All four divisions are currently preparing for large-scale expansion, which has been initiated by Cantaloupe Boutique’s Phase Two development project.
Cantaloupe Boutique is testament to Cantaloupe’s design ethos of adapting beautiful spaces by injecting its values and lifestyle into it. Cantaloupe Boutique is not simply a one off space that is aesthetically pleasing; it brings together like minded brands and retailers that each, in someway or another, embody the spirit, beauty and lifestyle of Cantaloupe.
Located at one of Colombo’s most prestigious and picturesque colonial landmark spaces, The Galle Face Court, Cantaloupe Boutique is a stylish establishment that has been modelled according to a department store concept; retailing an eclectic selection of high-end Sri Lankan designer products.
As Cantaloupe Boutique enters into Phase II of its development plan, it does so by more than doubling its floor space and with 22 of Sri Lanka’s most sought after retailers on board. These include: Melaché, Linen & Life (Lifestyle Clothing), Arugambay, String Hopper and Conscience (all from Colombo Workshop), Red Cocoon, Buddhi Batiks, Yoland (Design Apparel), Cantaloupe Jewels, Ayura Jewellery, Silkenty, Heladiv, Green Leaf (Spa Products), Spice Island, Lanka Organics (Sri Lankan Tea and Organic Products), D & L Homeware, Cozy Linen, Thimble, Parfumarie (Luxury Cosmetics), Eric Rajapakse, Just U, Zsa Zsa Gallery, Essential Galleries, Natalie Jayasuriya and Nirva Candles.
This list is non exhaustive and will continue to grow with time. Cantaloupe Boutique’s doors are officially open to the public, and this is an invitation for all to come and experience Colombo’s “newest” fashion lifestyle department store.
The long-term plan for the Boutique is to develop it into a lifestyle umbrella outlet where people can come shop, eat, drink and socialise. Cantaloupe also eventually hopes to expand this concept to multiple locations through out the city. Soon enough, the city will be speckled with Cantaloupe Boutique’s trademark hot pink, luminous green, tangerine and cobalt blue shopping bags!
