The Three Day Steak Out at 7 Degrees North!

A good steak is a rare find, but for those who share an appreciation for fine food, the search ends with a visit to Seven Degrees North at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo on 30 April.  Today the hotel’s trendy restaurant and bar will serve a steak menu featuring tender, succulent cuts prepared to perfection.

Hot off the charcoal grill, the choices range between Australian rib-eye, Australian sirloin, Beef tournedos, New Zeeland lamb chops and Australian tenderloin.  The steaks will be grilled à la minute over an outdoor grill on the deck as diners take in the aroma of the sizzling meat. 



In order to truly appreciate the meat it helps to know what makes it special.  The Rib-Eye is cut from the roast that sits at the top of the rib primal, and is always a boneless cut. When the bone is attached it is referred to as a Rib Steak.  Because of excellent marbling in the meat of this cut it is loaded with flavor and remains tender during cooking.  This steak is best grilled and will remain tender up to medium, though it is still good at medium well.  The rib eye is a must try at least once in life.

The Tenderloin is greatly desired for being the tenderest cut of beef.  They are best cooked hot and fast and benefit from their time on the grill.  Beef tournedos are tasty and tender, especially when grilled. They are generally two-inch thick slices of tender beef filet, tied with a string so they keep their shape and are a good source of minerals such as zinc, selenium, phosphorus, iron, B vitamins and creatine.

The meats at The Steak Out! will be accompanied by a hot buffet of whipped potato mash, marinated grilled tomatoes, assorted buttered vegetables, garlic bread and baked potatoes with accompaniments.  A selection of eight sauces can be chosen from that will include red wine sauce, cracked black pepper sauce, mushroom sauce, Béarnaise sauce, mustard sauce, Tabasco sauce, Lea & Perrins sauce and barbecue sauce.  The steaks will portioned to suit each diner and priced according to weight with a minimum weight order of 175 grams.  Every guest over 21 years of age will be entitled to a complimentary beverage to accompany the meal.  The Steak promotion will begin at 7.00pm and continue on until 11.00pm.  Reservations and inquiries will be entertained on 2491948.
