US Embassy Donates Holiday Gifts

Employees from the US Embassy donated holiday gifts to children living at the Haven and Sunshine home in Colombo.  The annual event, called “Toys for Tots”, is organized by Embassy’s Marine Security Detachment-a small group of U.S. Marines who provide security inside the Embassy building. 

Embassy employees donated over 200 toys, articles of clothing and washable diapers to the more than 100 children who reside in the orphanage.  Employees will also begin performing regular volunteer work at the home next month.
