This March, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo showcases the vibrant colours and exotic ingredients of Vietnamese cuisine in all its splendour. Patrons are invited to take a culinary journey to Vietnam with an eclectic dinner buffet spread.
Vietnamese food is considered one of the healthiest cuisines in the world. Its recipes include a variety of fresh spices and herbs such as lemongrass, galangal, Vietnamese mint, long coriander, Saigon cinnamon, bird’s eye chilli, lime, basil leaves and much more.
Traditional Vietnamese cooking is greatly admired for its fresh ingredients, minimal use of oil and reliance on herbs and vegetables, making it a healthy choice. A balance between fresh herbs and meats is achieved with the selective use of dry and wet spices to create the perfect taste.

The Vietnamese buffet at The Dining Room starts off with banana flower salad, clam and shoot lotus salad and everyone’s favourite appetiser, fresh rolls with shrimp, along with many more.
Amongst some of the famous main dishes created by the chef this month are the traditional fresh noodle with beef, spring roll with crab, deep fried shrimp paste with sugar cane, roasted duck with leaf from Lang Son Province, grilled beef in bamboo, grilled fish with galangal, sautéed noodle with seafood.
Desserts such as the banana sweet cake, marmalade lotus and the lotus or corn sweet soup are must haves.
