Yashan has recorded “a song for Jesus” this Christmas, titled ‘Hallelujah’.
“This season is not to celebrate and party all day all night. It’s the best time to be thankful for the life you have and stop looking at what you don’t have, start being thankful for what you got – and this is how I do it,” he said.
The audio was released on Yes FM and is getting frequent airplay on Red FM as well, which Kiss FM has also agreed to play it.
The lyrics video was released last week with much hype on his new TV show which airs every Sunday and Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. live on Siyatha TV (www.facebook.com/mxpyashan).
All footage was shot by Rakitha Perera who currently resides in the USA and the video’s creative direction was handled by him.
It features Senela Jay on vocals. Senela is an emerging artiste for soul, jazz and gospel music. She is also a pianist and a songwriter.
Music was done by the hottest new addition to the Sri Lankan music composing industry, Chamath Sangeeth, who is still in his early ’20s.
The song was released online recently and is receiving amazing feedback. “I am so happy to see and hear that people are enjoying and appreciating gospel music which is a very rare aspect in Sri Lanka,” said Yashan.
“The best thing about this song is that even those of other faiths are touched by the lyrics of the song and I can see this from the comments I receive,” he added.
The lyrics video is available on YouTube and the song can be downloaded for free at www.yashanonline.com.
