Cabinet go-ahead for the proposal to abolish SVAT system and rationalize VAT exemptions

The Cabinet of Ministers granted approval for a resolution  forwarded by President Ranil Wickremesinghe pertaining to the Value-Added Tax (VAT) and the Simplified Value-Added Tax (SVAT).
