Long queues formed at some filling stations in Colombo due to panic buying over fears that there is a shortage of fuel in the country. Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC) which accounts for one-third of fuel retail share, increased prices from last night. The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has proposed a price hike. Meanwhile Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila has ruled out any fuel shortage in the country.
