Ratmalana main mechanical factory repairs 800 trains per year – Dept. of Railways

The Department of Railways says that about 650 minor repairs and about 150 major scale repairs are carried out annually at the chief mechanical factory in Ratmalana.Among these repairs are locomotives, compartments and wagons used for freight, which have been used for over 30 years.
