18-member Presidential Task Force to oversee implementation of ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ initiative

A Gazette notification was issued on 19 December, to appoint an 18-member Presidential Task Force to oversee the implementation of the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ initiative which aligns with the President’s policy statement. It aims to launch a national mission addressing the well-being, reconciliation, and overall progress of the nation. The program thus focuses on fostering social, environmental, and ethical awakening of the country while promoting environmental, economic, and social sustainability.

The task force members include Secretary to the President Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, the Commanders of the Tri-Forces, Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasooriya, and the Chairman of the Urban Development Authority (UDA).
