ThriBasha programs of Universal Heritage Inspire tomorrow and 29 Sept.

Held on the Zoom platform of the Virtual Book Fair which is organised by the Read Plus Foundation (RPF) and continuing from the ThriBasha launch events of 18 and 19 September, ThriBasha the local knowledge arm of Universal Heritage Inspire Ltd., is introducing the following activities: 

• Language as Heritage for National Prosperity; 
• Facilitating youth voices from around the island representing the different provinces of Sri Lanka and district level schools; 
• Introduction of initiatives to promote Sinhala and Sri Lankan Tamil globally; 
• Introduction of the concept of Heritage-Edu Tourism; 
• Introduction of the concept of Integrated Knowledge for National Prosperity; 
• Discourse on Art as a Language and Language as an Art; 
• Announcing the launch of the web radio Universal Heritage Inspire – LakNada affiliation for promoting ThriBasha/Lankan Heritage knowledge locally and Universal Heritage globally through a global radio service; 
• The launch of the village to village Heritage Craft Reviving Entrepreneurship creation and rejuvenation to research and revive even already-died-out Sri Lankan Heritage Crafts;
• Announcing the taking orders for the Heritage Craft Christmas Hamper available islandwide and through global shipping from 25 October 2021 onwards; 
• Announcing the 2021 Christmas Book Hamper by ThriBasha in collaboration with local and international publishers available locally and globally from 25 October 2021 onwards;
• Education-based workshops for adults, youth and children on the ancient heritage of Sri Lankan Ayurveda including Deshiya Chikitsa (Sinhala Wedakama), Siddha and Unani; 
• Introducing affiliations with modern technology-based institutions to promote the ancient Veddha language, Sinhala and Sri Lankan Tamil within Sri Lanka and the world; 
• Introducing the teaching of English alongside Sinhala and Tamil through the knowledge of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH); 
• Introducing district-level access to ThriBasha events and rural level short documentaries in affiliation with Ayubowan Shri Lanka for the live broadcast of ThriBasha Universal Heritage Inspire events throughout September and October; 
• Initiating the cultivation of ‘food for all’ agroforests in two national universities of Sri Lanka;
• Introducing the Universal Heritage Inspire/ThriBasha collaboration with the Ambassadors Forum;
• The Weekend FT is the English language print media partner for the segment of activities organised by ThriBasha of Universal Heritage Inspire from September to October; 
• The Virtual Book Fair held till 30 September is organised by the Read Plus Foundation (RPF).

The ThriBasha-collaborated events are to be held tomorrow and on 29 September. The Ambassador’s Forum of Sri Lanka is supporting ThriBasha/Universal Heritage Inspire events as relevant.

ThriBasha of Universal Heritage Inspire believes in using integrated knowledge and arts as a uniting element for Sri Lankan nation-building, national unity and collective prosperity. It seeks to encourage innovative thought in publishing and seeks to closely work with all large- and small-scale publishers of Sri Lanka especially to mainstream intangible cultural heritage in education.

ThriBasha hopes to be a catalyst in shaping innovative and stimulating knowledge creation that will encompass all of mother nature and encourage introspection. ThriBasha and Universal Heritage Inspire is currently researching the ancient pre-colonial Gurukula system of Sinhala and Tamil communities of Sri Lanka in order to recreate such knowledge in both theory and practice, 

ThriBasha and Universal Heritage Inspire Ltd., through its diverse business brands, attempts to link that which is philosophical, spiritual, idealistic and intellectual with that which is practical and material. 

The events that will be held on 26 and 29 September include youth of around Sri Lanka sharing their vision of knowledge and creativity for national prosperity, a theoretical and intangible cultural heritage-based look at Sri Lanka’s ancient knowledge and legends, case study-based insights on knowledge entrepreneurship from rural North and South, contemplation on looking at language as art and art as a language, discussions on mainstreaming knowledge of Sri Lanka’s natural heritage as a means of ensuring food security, examining the link between school-based aesthetic creativity and entrepreneurship, encouraging a re-look at the role of national universities, and re-examining the meaning of why anyone should get ‘educated’. 

Among the range of speakers for tomorrow and the 29 September event are University of Kelaniya Department of Fine Arts professor and SAARC Cultural Centre Director Prof. Prashanthi Narangoda, creative director, artist and Casa Serena Art Gallery Founder Nisansala Karunaratne Rajapaksa, Sinhala literature specialist and Nilakadi Weda Paramparawe Priyantha Dharmawansa Wedamahattaya, the 2010 Gratiaen Prize winner, English language poet Sakunthala Satchithanandan, Mineral Eng. Dr. Sudath Rohitha, who has, with Universal Heritage Inspire, started an island-wide movement to cultivate jackfruit trees for food security and entrepreneurship creation, international chef and self-taught rare plant specialist Suranga Lakshan Kariyawasam, self-taught engineer Chinthaka Waragoda, who has started cleaning with his latest invention Sri Lanka’s oceans from the after-effects of the MV X-Press Pearl ship disaster, and financial management expert, entrepreneur and Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka Secretary Dileesha Perera. 

Universal Heritage Inspire and ThriBasha Founder Frances Bulathsinghala is a veteran journalist, academic and entrepreneur who is currently working on a Lankan nation-building model through wisdom-based knowledge, centred around the intangible cultural heritage of Sri Lanka and woven around the vast education base found in the pre-colonial Gurukula tradition of Sri Lanka.

Frances Bulathsinghala has also designed the concept of Edu-Tourism in Sri Lanka and is currently setting up an open-air book and tree library in the Central Province. ThriBasha is the knowledge arm of Universal Heritage Inspire Ltd.

Among those spearheading ThriBasha across the country are Frances Bulathsinghala, Dr. Sudath Rohitha, Nuwan Priyadharshana, Prof. Kamal Waleboda, Subodhan Mahadeva, Eng. Priyantha Dayarathna, Dr. Gamini Wijesuriya, Dr. Mangaleswaran, Dr. M. Malarawan, and many other academics, writers and artists from different sectors of society in diverse geographical areas of Sri Lanka.
