AIA Insurance announces free additional cover for COVID-19 for all customers

AIA Insurance (Sri Lanka) yesterday announced that all existing and future customers will automatically benefit from free additional coverage for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

It said this is part of AIA’s proactive efforts to protect Sri Lankans from the ongoing threat posed by the virus which has caused much concern across the world.

AIA will provide an Additional Life Insurance Benefit of Rs. 500,000 for death due to COVID-19. This is in addition to the Natural Death Cover of the policy and this benefit is applicable to all AIA policyholders, irrespective of the policy or the value of the cover.

This free additional cover has been implemented to ensure that AIA’s customers are better protected and prepared, reaffirming AIA’s promise of helping Sri Lankans live healthier, longer and better lives.

AIA Lanka CEO Nikhil Advani said: “We understand that there is much concern about COVID-19 across the world and now in Sri Lanka too. The wellbeing of our customers is important to us and we prioritise being there for them when they need us the most.

“As an insurance company, our job is to ensure that our customers and their families are financially secure to face life’s eventualities. Having said that, we do wholeheartedly hope that the impact of COVID-19 will be minimal in Sri Lanka and that we can contain its spread. I urge everyone to follow the Government’s directions, exercise caution and maintain social distancing so that together we can help each other live healthier, longer and better lives.”
