Associated Motor Finance Company (AMF), one of the oldest finance companies in the country, recently donated medical equipment worth over Rs. 2 million to the Homagama Base Hospital which functions as a treatment centre for COVID-19 patients in the area.

The donation of the equipment included two units of Patient Controlled Analgesia Pumps, two units of DVT Pumps and two units of Patient Warmers which the hospital direly needed for their Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Operation Theatre. AMF’s contribution to the COVID-19 battle came at a critical point of time as the medical staff was shouldering a tremendous responsibility to cope with the situation with existing resources.

“Homagama Base Hospital is an important centre in the entire region as a treatment centre for COVID-19 patients. With the outbreak of the second wave of the pandemic, we found ourselves in a challenging situation as we had to manage work with limited available resources. AMF promptly and generously responded our request and arranged for the donation of these essential equipment within a short period of time. We are immensely grateful to AMF for stepping up to support us in this hour of need,” said Homagama Base Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Janitha Hettiarachchi.

“As one of the oldest finance companies in the country, we have always been socially conscious and stepped up to support the community. It gives us immense pleasure to take part in this national cause to battle the pandemic that has crippled our society and economy. AMF will continue to stay vigilant and step up to fulfil our duty as a responsible corporate citizen,” said Associated Motor Finance Company PLC CEO T.M.A. Sallay.
