The official launching of the website of Anti Malaria Campaign of Sri Lanka was successfully held at the World Malaria Day media conference on 24 of April at Kingsbury Hotel.
The website was launched by Deputy Minister of Health Faizal Cassim. Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Deputy Director General of Health Services – Public Services, Dr. Sarath Amunugama, and Director of Anti Malaria Campaign Dr. H.D.B. Herath were also present. The official website of the Anti Malaria Campaign has taken a giant step ahead in the website development industry meeting standards of many dynamic web content publishing systems. The new website comprises of a fully responsive layout, and alternate versions for easy view on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
Powered by a strong content management system, their aim is to bring you the latest, accurate, relevant content in a very innovative, attractive and interactive manner. Compared to previous versions they have improved the information architecture of the contents supported by the specific objectives of Anti Malaria Campaign Headquarters. Most of the data visualisation tools are updated live by the dedicated database operators. The aim is to capture a wide range of audience from the general public to technical experts on malaria both locally and internationally.
The website is more interactive such as using an internal feedback system to know how well we are doing, testimonial page for sharing common thoughts about our website and most importantly live chat feature which is handled by officers at Anti Malaria Campaign. The initial core development and design was done by Medical Officer of Health Informatics Dr. C.H. Senanayake, with the utmost dedication of the IT Unit of Anti Malaria Campaign and the joint collaboration of the entire staff of various categories of the Campaign backed by a strong guidance of consultants which was the main key towards its success.
