The Cabinet of Ministers on Monday approved awarding the procurement contract for 45 sets of Distal Femoral Nail with Tan implants to M/S Medisurg International.
This decision was made following the recommendations of the Technical Appraisal Committee and the Standing Procurement Committee appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The procurement process, conducted through international competitive bidding, attracted two bids. M/S Medisurg International emerged as the lowest bidder with a substantive bid, securing the contract.
These orthopaedic implants are essential for the healing and alignment of severe bone fractures.
“This procurement will support the healthcare sector by providing high-quality orthopaedic implants, thereby improving patient outcomes in severe fracture cases,” Cabinet Co-Spokesman and Minister Bandula Gunawardena said at the weekly post-Cabinet meeting media briefing yesterday.
The proposal to this effect, submitted by Health Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
