Free clinic on Ayurveda beauty care at Nawinna Medicare Hospital

Nawinna Medicare Hospital in collaboration with Sayora.lk successfully completed a free clinic on Ayurveda beauty care at Nawinna Medicare Hospital on 14 March. This was conducted free, commemorating International Women’s Day.

The management of Nawinna Medicare Hospital together with Sayora.lk organised this free clinic with the aim of promoting health and wellness in Sri Lanka. The participants were given the opportunity to grow their knowledge in preventive healthcare aspects and reverse ageing techniques.

The program included a lecture, demonstration, free doctor consultation, counselling on beauty care, measuring body constitution, skin type, assessment of body contours, calorie requirement, ideal weight, fat percentage using online health tools and blood pressure, pulse diagnosis according to Ayurveda fundamentals.

When considering health and beauty, ageing is a natural process every human being must go through. According to the World Health Organization, ageing is a course of biological reality which starts at conception and ends with death. It has its own dynamics, much beyond human control. However, this process of ageing affects one’s outer appearance as well as physical activities. So reverse ageing is a popular topic nowadays. Daily exercises/yoga, skin care habits, sleep, and mental health is much important in reverse ageing. Using natural methods and Ayurvedic medicine for reverse ageing and anti-ageing nutrition were well discussed in the lecture. The clinic was conducted by an SLAMC registered Ayurvedic physician, Dr. Lakshika Chandrasiri who is qualified in Cosmetology and Ayurveda Beauty Therapy. She has been in the medical field since 2016 with clinical expertise in Ayurveda, counselling, yoga and acupuncture disciplines. Her integrated approach in wellness and healthcare was appreciated by many participants at the event. The management received positive feedback from participants who appreciated the health and beauty education given and the health parameters measured.
