Lanka Hospitals, the internationally accredited multiple award-winning healthcare provider celebrated World Heart Day on 29 September. The event also marked the successful completion of 9,000 heart surgeries at the hospital’s Heart Centre.
Lanka Hospitals Group Chief Executive Officer Deepthi Lokuarachchi, Lanka Hospitals Director Medical Services Dr. Wimal Karandagoda, other senior members of Lanka Hospitals management, heart specialists and staff of the hospital’s Heart Centre participated in the event.
The event also included an educational panel discussion by three senior resident cardiac specialists with regard to heart health and the importance of preventing heart disease. The members of the panel discussion were Resident Consultant Cardiologist Dr. M. Mubarak, Chief Resident Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr. G. Gandhiji and Resident Consultant Cardiac Anaesthesiologist Dr. P. Lushantha.
