Lanka Hospitals, the internationally accredited multiple award-winning healthcare provider, has renewed its partnership with the National Insurance Trust Fund to offer health benefits to Agrahara insurance beneficiaries.

The Agrahara insurance scheme is designed exclusively for public sector employees in order to offer them quality healthcare at an affordable rate. Lanka Hospitals currently offers affordable benefits in eye care, cardiac care and a range of other services through the Agrahara insurance scheme. The Agrahara benefits offered at Lanka Hospitals include a dedicated facilitation counter at Lanka Hospitals, an exemption on admission deposits, a 10% discount on standard room tariffs, a 10% discount on laboratory investigations for in-patients, a 5% discount on radiology procedures for in-patients and out-patients, a Rs. 25,000 discount on heart surgeries and other procedures (CABG/PTCA) and a waiver on hospital fees for three consecutive post-surgical consultations.

“Agrahara paves the way for more affordable healthcare for those employed in the public sector and their families, and therefore it is a service that is crucial for the wellbeing of the people. We consider it a privilege to renew our partnership with the National Insurance Trust Fund and to offer the Agrahara insurance scheme to those who can fully benefit from its service offering,” stated Lanka Hospitals Group Chief Executive Officer Dr. Prasad Medawatta.

The Agrahara insurance scheme was established by the National Insurance Trust Fund Board Act No. 28 of 2006 with the Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs to uplift the living standards of government employees and their families countrywide.  Nearly 700,000 government employees and their dependants are entitled to premier healthcare services from private hospitals under the Agrahara insurance scheme. Lanka Hospitals has been a partner of the NITF since 2010 and continues to offer a quality healthcare service to public sector employees. Meanwhile, Lanka Hospitals is the first hospital in Sri Lanka to be awarded some of the most prestigious accreditations in the world for its healthcare service standards, including the 6th edition of the Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation since 2014, and the world-respected Medical Tourism Certification from the Medical Travel Quality Alliance (MTQUA).

Furthermore, Lanka Hospitals Diagnostics (LHD) is the only Sri Lankan Laboratory to be accredited by the prestigious laboratory accreditation body, the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
