Lanka Hospitals PLC, the nation’s internationally accredited multiple award-winning healthcare provider, has once again proved delivery of the highest quality in healthcare services having received 14 coveted Gold awards at the National Convention on Quality and Productivity Awards 2020 held recently.
The Convention, an annual event, was organised by the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Quality and Productivity (SLAAQP). The National Convention and awards presented are recognised as a premier event which acknowledges companies who showcase commitment to quality in its products and processes.
Lanka Hospitals received 14 Gold awards in recognition of demonstrating continuous dedication in maintaining the highest quality, productivity and standards in all spheres of the organisation and culture.
The hospital received the Gold awards for the following categories; Cath Lab, Cardio Thoracic Operation Theatre, General Operation Theatre, Ward 6C, Infection Control Unit, Coronary Care Unit, Lanka Hospitals Diagnostics, Gastroenterology Centre, Clinical Pharmacy, Medical Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Medical Record Audit Unit, Matron Office and Nurses Training School.
Commenting on receiving the awards, GCEO Deepthi Lokuarachchi said: “We have achieved a great victory in creating an organisational culture which prides itself on ensuring the highest quality standards. This spontaneously creates staff who is dedicated towards quality and productivity. I offer my heartiest congratulations to members of the fourteen teams that received Gold awards. In continuously striving to maintain our quality and productivity levels, we are in the process of implementing several new processes.”
According to SLAAQP, companies and team members who receive Gold Awards at the Convention are selected to represent Sri Lanka at the next International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) 2021 scheduled to be held from 28 September to 1 October in India. This year’s conference will promote the theme ‘Quality Concept Facilitating Societal and Economic Turnaround’.
Lanka Hospitals is the first hospital in Sri Lanka to be awarded some of the most prestigious accreditations in the world for its healthcare service standards including the Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation 6th edition, and the world-respected Medical Tourism Certification from the Medical Travel Quality Alliance (MTQUA). Furthermore, Lanka Hospitals Diagnostics (LHD) is the only Sri Lankan laboratory to be accredited by the prestigious laboratory accreditation body, the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
