Lecture on ‘Indian Culture, Sanskrit and Yoga: A Realistic Approach’ tomorrow

The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), High Commission of India, Colombo, will be organising a lecture on the topic ‘Indian Culture, Sanskrit and Yoga: A Realistic Approach’ by Silpakorn University Bangkok Sanskrit Studies Centre’s Visiting Professor of Sanskrit and ICCR Chair Dr. N. C. Panda, on 8 November at 10 a.m at Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre auditorium, 16/2 Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7. 

Dr. N.C. Panda is well known in the field of Indological Research. He combines a comprehensive understanding of scholarly issues, impartial judgment and an exemplary clarity of expression. He is also associated with a number of research journals in the capacity of an advisor, editor and reviewer in India and abroad.

An ardent scholar and researcher of Indology, he has contributed more than 112 research papers, attended more than 80 national and international conferences and seminars, and has written and edited more than 27 books, such as: ‘Perspectives of Indian Thought’; ‘Upadesasahasri’ (Revised and Ed.); ‘Buddhism’ (Compiled and Ed.); ‘Kalatattva-kosha’ Vols. V and VI (Ed.); ‘Saundarya-lahari ’ (Critically Edited); ‘Samkhya-karika’ (Ed.); ‘Mahavamsa’ (with Eng. Tr.); ‘Aspects of Vedanta’ (Ed.); ‘Essays on the Gita’ (Ed.); ‘Life of Buddha’ (Compiled and Ed.); ‘Gods and Goddesses in Indian Art and Literature’; ‘Architecture of Manasara’ (Vastu Text and Eng. Trans. Ed.); ‘Indian Temple Architecture’ (Ed.), ‘Durgaa Saptasati’ (Seven Comm. with Eng. Trans.), ‘Thirteen Principal Upanishads’ and ‘Pauranic Itihas Vimarsha’ (Ed).
