Long lines were seen outside pharmacies in the Matara town on Monday after the curfew was lifted from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Residents of the area said that they had to wait more than two hours to get medicine and by the time their turn came, some of the medicine were sold out.
Most were there to purchase medicines they use on a regular basis such as for high blood pressure, diabetes etc.
“They do not have much knowledge about getting the medicine delivered by ordering online,” a resident said.
She suggested that the Government to share the contact numbers for the pharmacies during prime-time news in every TV channel and radio so that such information will be available to all people.
