Asserting its deep commitment towards patient safety and continuity of care during the pandemic, pioneering Sri Lankan private healthcare provider Nawaloka Hospitals recently introduced a free hotline 0115777777, for audio and video consultations with the hospital’s OPD doctors in order to ensure the safety of and meet the rapidly evolving demands of patients across the country.

Patients are thereafter directed to book, pay for and channel consultants specialising in surgery, ophthalmology, VOG, neuro-diagnostics and cardiology, through digital audio and video consultations that are conducted over the NawalokaCare mobile app or WhatsApp. Further, Nawaloka Hospitals’ Mobile Labs offers patients the opportunity to get their medicine delivered right to their doorsteps by uploading their prescriptions onto the NawalokaCare app.

“The new realities of healthcare delivery in a post-COVID-19 world have necessitated the continued use of digital alternatives to support social distancing, guarantee patient safety and maximise healthcare resources, particularly with the steady increase in the number of COVID-19 patients. In such a context, we are happy to introduce our audio and video consultation lines to make the high-quality healthcare offered by Nawaloka Hospitals easily accessible by all those who require it, wherever they may be in Sri Lanka. As the pioneering private healthcare provider in the country, we will continue to innovate and invest in world class solutions to protect and treat our patients,” remarked Nawaloka Hospitals Deputy Chairman Harshith Dharmadasa.

This initiative intends to ensure the safety of both patients and employees during this critical time in the country when the COVID-19 pandemic has forced individuals to adhere to mandatory social distancing guidelines to mitigate community spread. Among the hospital’s numerous initiatives to provide patients with convenient access to healthcare, is the launch of NawalokaCare, a mobile health and wellness app that enables patients to consult doctors, make channelling appointments, order medicine, access and track their medical reports and history, track their personal wellness goals and more.

Further, Nawaloka Hospital was able to launch the country’s very first, state-of-the-art ‘drive-thru express’ labs in the hospitals branches in Colombo and Negombo, which facilitates a broad spectrum of blood and urine investigations while enabling patients to dispatch the necessary testing samples in the least among of time right from the safety and comfort of their vehicles.
