People’s Bank donates another Portable Ultra Sound Scanner to Jaffna Hospital for 60th Anniversary

As part of the series of CSR initiatives organised to mark People’s Bank’s 60th Anniversary, a Portable Ultra Sound Scanner worth over Rs. 7 million was donated to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital recently. This state-of-the-art equipment which can be deployed to treat COVID-19 patients was funded by the People’s Bank staff members by donating a part of their salaries.

People’s Bank CEO/General Manager Ranjith Kodituwakku, Jaffna Teaching Hospital Director Dr. T. Sathiyamoorthy, Deputy Directors Dr. S. Sribavanatharaja and Dr. C. Jamunanantha, People’s Bank Head of Marketing Nalaka Wijayawardana, Jaffna Regional Manager K. Kodeeswaran, Assistant Regional Manager M. Mathiyalagm and Jaffna Stanley Road Branch Manager P. Partheepan, bank staff and hospital staff were present at the event.

Once the COVID-19 pandemic settles, the hospital expects to use this scanner for the benefit of other patients as well. Similar equipment was earlier donated to National Hospitals in Colombo and Kandy, courtesy of the People’s Bank staff.
