• Says new product comes with extensive coverage at affordable premia

Sri Lanka Insurance Life has introduced its latest health insurance cover, ‘Sri Lanka Insurance Life Medi Champ’, in response to the growing financial challenges faced by individuals and families amidst rising healthcare costs. 

Designed to provide a comprehensive health cover at an accessible premium, ‘Medi Champ’ addresses the pressing need for affordable healthcare solutions, offering policyholders robust benefits to ensure financial security and peace of mind during medical emergencies.

The launch of ‘Medi Champ’ also acknowledges Sri Lanka’s deep-rooted cultural values around family, where extended families often live together, sharing responsibilities and caring for each other’s wellbeing. With this understanding, ‘Medi Champ’ aims to alleviate the potential financial burden of unforeseen medical costs on families. 

As a comprehensive and inclusive health insurance cover, ‘Medi Champ’ offers Sri Lankan families a way to manage healthcare expenses more affordably, ensuring financial protection and well-being for every family member during difficult times.The Sri Lanka Insurance Life ‘Medi Champ’ health insurance cover stands out with a range of thoughtfully designed features, delivering significant financial support across various healthcare needs. Policyholders can receive coverage of up to Rs. 60 million, addressing a broad spectrum of healthcare benefits. This plan covers expenses of ambulance fees, organ donor expenses, prostheses, and implants. Additionally, ‘Medi Champ’ uniquely extends coverage to three generations, offering policyholders a broader safety net that includes spouses, children, and parents.

Among its standout features, ‘Medi Champ’ provides a no-claim bonus for every claim-free year, potentially reaching up to 100% of the sum assured. Recognising the importance of maintaining health, the plan also includes specialised coverage for dental and optical needs.

With a worldwide cashless bill settlement facility (excluding the USA and Canada), ‘Medi Champ’ ensures that policyholders are protected during hospitalisations abroad, giving access to the best medical care and treatment anywhere in the world. Whilst providing a range of benefits, including outpatient and Ayurvedic treatment expenses and maternity benefits, the policyholder can further enjoy the benefits of ‘Medi Champ’ without future premium payments in case of a permanent disability. 

Adults between the ages of 18 and 65 are eligible to apply, with coverage continuing until age 75. The policy term spans between 5 to 40 years, with the flexibility of monthly, quarterly, half yearly, and annual payment options at policyholder convenience. ‘Medi Champ’ also allows including family members to the policy, extending protection to the policyholder’s spouse, up to five children, and both parents. 

Importantly, ‘Medi Champ’ can be added to several other Sri Lanka Insurance Life plans, such as the Divi Thilina, Early Cash, Freedom Retirement, Freedom Lifestyle Plus, Wealth Plus, Divi Savi, Speed Investment, Minimuthu, and Janadiri policies, making it an adaptable addition for diverse financial plans.
