Sri Lanka Insurance introduces Medi Plus; a one-click health insurance solution

The national insurer Sri Lanka Insurance has launched the ‘Medi Plus’ Health Insurance Plan, an affordable, convenient and one-click health insurance solution.

Recognising the growing concern over the health consciousness among the general public and the increasing cost of health facilities, the ‘Medi Plus’ health insurance was carefully curated to deliver comprehensive health cover at an affordable premium.

The Medi Plus Health Insurance Plan covers a range of health insurance needs at an affordable premium and comes with a special No Claim Bonus, which increases the sum insured for every claim-free year. The claims will be settled on a reimbursement basis and cashless basis which gives even greater convenience. The insurance policy is available to purchase online at the Sri Lanka Insurance customer portal www.srilankainsurance.net making it a hassle-free insurance experience.

Adults between the age of 18 and 60 are eligible to apply for this cover and the cover ceasing age will be at the age of 69 years. The policy can be obtained for children between the ages of 180 days to 17 years with the cover ceasing at the age of 21.

The annual sum insured can be obtained with four options Rs. 250,000, Rs. 500,000, Rs. 750,000 and Rs. 1,000,000 according to the requirement of the policyholder with the hospitalisation benefit for private hospitals and Government hospitals.

The insurance policy covers a wider array of health insurance-related expenses including hospital room, surgeon, anaesthetist, medical practitioners, consultant and specialist fees, operation theatre, medicines, laboratory tests, blood and oxygen charges, ambulance charges, maternity benefits, pre-and post-hospitalisation benefits under the inpatient hospitalisation benefits.

The epidemic and pandemic cover (COVID-19) can also be obtained with the insurance and additional benefits – within the annual sum insured – such as cataracts, day care surgeries, organ donor expenses, no claim bonus and family coverage are also available to obtain with the SLIC Medi Plus Health Insurance Plan.
