Venture Beyond Ltd. recently donated high quality PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) kits to fulfill the request from Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital.
These kits are crucial in safeguarding the frontline hospital staff who provides essential medical services during the COVID-19 crisis.
Venture Beyond Chairman Asanga U. Ranasinghe presented the goods to Dr. Lakmal Fernando at the hospital’s ICU. “We’re happy to be able to make a contribution to bolster Sri Lanka’s country response to this global crisis. The courageous health services staff everywhere needs to be protected in order to successfully face and overcome this situation.”
Building on basic mobile technology, VB has developed a medical app for multiple-users, which can be downloaded for free on the Google Play Store. The Niroga app can be used by anyone with a smartphone to store health records and is especially useful during a pandemic such as COVID-19. It could save lives.
The Niroga app is also suitable to be used in community development projects, staff of non-profit and UN agencies as well. The digital yet low-tech nature of the app makes it a flexible tool that it suitable for any context.
