The Cardiac Unit of Lanka Hospitals (LH) organised an annual get together, with well-known consultant cardiologists, cardiac interventionalists and cardiac surgeons in the industry along with Heart Centre staff, Cathlab, Operating Theatre and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) staff enjoying a casual evening of music, dance and entertainment at the hospital’s 10th floor auditorium.

Lanka Hospitals has the only Heart Centre in the country that performs both adult and paediatric heart surgeries. By performing more than 700 successful adult and paediatric cardiac surgeries in 2015 – the highest since Apollo Hospitals’ inception in 2002 – the LH Heart Centre has proven to be the industry leader in the private health care sector in Sri Lanka.

The Lanka Hospitals Heart Centre is fully facilitated with a comprehensive eco system of not only diagnosis, consultation, treatment, surgery and post-operative care but also with support services including blood bank, physiotherapy, dietician services, counselling and pharmacy that reinforces optimum treatment and care to its patients.

Since its inception in 2002, Apollo Hospitals/Lanka Hospitals has performed close to 5,500 heart surgeries including rare and complex procedures and close to 18,000 Cathlab procedures including angiograms and angioplasties since 2004. Lanka Hospitals Heart Centre will venture into heart transplant surgeries in the near future.
