Untitled-2Asian Alliance Insurance, a member of the Softlogic Group, has reaffirmed its position as the leader in health insurance by offering convenient and innovative solutions and now extends its ‘cashless hospitalisation’ facility to 60 hospitals island wide – thereby bringing tremendous value to policyholders.

The cashless hospitalisation facility provides convenience to customers by eliminating the need for them to settle the hospital bill at the point of being discharged and get it reimbursed subsequently by going through the traditional reimbursement process. With ‘cashless hospitalisation’ customers only have to produce their Health Card upon hospital admission whilst notifying the Asian Alliance 24-Hour Care Centre. On being discharged from the hospital, the Care Centre once again needs to be contacted with the details of the bill. The company will then settle the amount covered by the policy directly with the hospital, obviating the need to raise cash and thereby increasing customer convenience.

In collaboration with Softlogic Group’s Asiri Hospitals, Asian Alliance Life Insurance was the first local insurance company to offer the cashless hospitalisation facility to the Sri Lankan market. The company also accounts for several others firsts in the local healthcare insurance industry. In addition to hospitals in Sri Lanka, Asian Alliance Insurance offers cashless hospitalisation facility at a number of globally reputed hospitals including Apollo Hospitals India and Parkway Group of Hospitals Singapore.

The Parkway Hospitals Singapore comprises Mount Elizabeth Orchard Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital and Parkway East Hospital. Cooperation has also been established with Apollo Group of Hospitals – India’s first multi-specialty private sector hospital chain, which provides cashless treatments to Asian Alliance Life policyholders who are directed for overseas treatment by the Asiri Hospitals Group.

“This latest enhancement of convenience via the extension of our cashless hospitalisation facility represents an important new value addition to our policyholders, in addition to overseas coverage on our Life policies,” Asian Alliance Insurance PLC Managing Director Iftikar Ahamed said. “This also re-affirms our commitment to continuously add value to our policyholders via customer-centric innovation.”

In the sphere of health insurance Asian Alliance facilitates specialised medical care from leading medical establishments in the country and the region at competitive rates. Earlier this year the company became the first Sri Lankan insurer to announce a Health Insurance Cover of up to $ 1 million that can be purchased locally.

Asian Alliance Insurance PLC is held by Softlogic Capital PLC and is part of the Softlogic Group, which is recognised as one of Sri Lanka’s most diversified and fastest-growing conglomerates with interests in Healthcare, Retail, ICT, Leisure, Automobiles and Financial Services. Significant stakeholders in the company also include FMO and DEG that are rated ‘AAA’ Development Financial Institutions from the Netherlands and Germany respectively.
