The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka announced the opening of the Ayurveda Expo 2013 International Indigenous Healthcare Exhibition on Friday 12 July at 1000 h at the BMICH. The exhibition will continue up to 14 July.
The Chief Guest for the opening ceremony will be Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne and Guests of Honour will be Minister of Indigenous Medicine Salinda Dissanayake, Deputy Minister of Indigenous Medicine Pandu Bandaranayake and Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishard Bathiudeen. The occasion will be graced by other distinguished guests and invitees from the Government and corporate sectors.
This is the fourth Ayurveda Expo conducted by the National Chamber of Commerce in association with the Ministry of Indigenous Medicine, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Sri Lanka Export Development Board, Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Authority and Sri Lanka Conventions Bureau.

The exhibition will focus mainly on wellness, lifestyle and healing, Ayurveda medicine, nature friendly health food, acupuncture, yoga, meditation, sidda, unani and homeopathy. Herbal cosmetic producers, health resorts and health spas, etc., will participate. There will be over 120 stalls.
Foreign exhibitors/delegations and visitors from overseas countries such as Japan, Pakistan, India, China, South Africa and Thailand are expected to participate in the three-day mega exhibition.
One-to-one business meetings will be organised for Sri Lankan Ayurveda professionals, businessmen, industrialists and investors to meet their overseas counterparts at Ayurveda Expo 2013.In addition there will be a medical symposium on ‘Traditional Medicine’ on 13 July featuring world-renowned speakers from India, Thailand, Germany and China.
One of the main objectives of Ayurveda Expo 2013 is to increase the volume of trade and investment in the Ayurveda and native healthcare sector in the world and educate the public on the expertise and new products available in the indigenous healthcare sector.
