Ayurveda Expo 2015 opens today at BMICH

The mega three-day International Indigenous Healthcare Exhibition opens today, 3 July, at the BMICH Colombo organised by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka in association with the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medicine, Ministry of Industry and Commerce Sri Lanka Export Development Board, Board of Investment, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Department of Commerce and other institutions. 

The exhibition, being conducted for the fifth time, will be held from 3 to 5 July at the BMICH from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and entrance will be free of charge.

The exhibition will be ceremonially opened by Dr. Rajitha Senarathne in the presence of Rishad Bathiudeen, heads of Government, private sector and diplomatic missions and other distinguished guests and invitees. President Maithripala Sirisena is expected to visit the exhibition.

Concurrently a Medical Symposium consisting of international speakers will be held on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 July at the BMICH where professionals, academics and researches will speak on traditional medicine. 

In addition a high powered 39-member delegation from China will attend the exhibition. The National Chamber has organised a Business Forum for the Chinese delegates to meet their counterparts at a Networking Lunching session from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m. on 3 July at the Chamber Auditorium 450 D.R. Wijewardene Mw, Colombo 10. Business interests of delegates are auto parts and electric cars, food and beverage, OPTO mechatronics, retail textiles, industrial park, and service industry.

Bathiudeen will attend the Business Forum as the Chief Guest. Additionally senior officials from the Export Development Board, Board of Investment and Dept. of Commerce will speak at the Business Forum. Ayurveda Expo 2015 will focus on manufacturers of Ayurveda/herbal, nature friendly health foods and beverages, health resorts/spas, Ayurveda hospitals/clinics, educational institutions, yoga, acupuncture, homeopathy, beauty care products, herbal cosmetic products, etc. Foreign delegations/visitors from countries such as India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Japan and China, etc., are expected to attend the exhibition.
