In a bid to further expand their operations and offerings to the global market, Cambio recently appointed a new CEO, Peter Gillie. Peter is a proven leader known for his participative style of leadership with customers and employees. Counting over 25 years of experience in IT and business, Peter has held leading roles in several renowned IT companies. He was responsible for turning around Nexus, a leading international provider of IT security solutions, from a turnover of 65m to an estimated 370m in a few years. Peter has also worked for 12 years at Oracle in different senior positions.
Commenting on his appointment Peter said, “I am very excited to have been chosen to lead this company. I have always found the combination between IT and healthcare to be extremely interesting and to get the opportunity to lead one of the greatest companies on the market is a privilege. As technology continues to expand, it’s becoming clear that we’re entering a new era of healthcare, where technology is giving the industry a much-needed upgrade in helping patients live healthier lives. This goes in line with our company’s mandate which is to create world class healthcare solutions that improve patient safety, clinical efficacy and healthcare efficiency through integrated care solutions and clinical decision support. I am convinced that the development in e-health has just begun and that there is an enormous potential for more equal and accessible healthcare through innovative IT-solutions and we intend to play a key role in this industry.”
Speaking of his plans for the Sri Lankan office of Cambio, Peter stated that the team of software developers in Sri Lanka has been instrumental for much of the organisations successes. He stated that new growth will require further investing and strengthening of their R&D team in Sri Lanka.
“I am looking forward to working with the team to execute our growth plan for the coming year. We will work together to be an enabler of change by developing the next generation of healthcare systems that will deliver solutions to meet the changing needs of the industry and ensure higher levels of integration and more functionality,” he concluded.
