Seeking to make a positive impact on the lives of young children and their parents, Celia – a French infant nutrition brand with close to 90 years of expertise, offering also products for pregnant and breastfeeding women – is offering guidance to parents on key health-related topics such as nutrition, pregnancy and infant health.
Recognising the need to go beyond conventional channels to get the message across especially to young first-time parents, this major awareness campaign has placed strong emphasis on social and digital media. The newly-launched Facebook page of Celia for Sri Lanka (https://www.facebook.com/CeliaSriLanka/) will provide regular updates on these subjects, while a website – ‘Mama and me.lk’ – will also be launched shortly to further strengthen the awareness campaign.
In addition, booklets with tips and guidance are also being distributed free-of-charge by Celia as part of the initiative. Providing information from the child’s conception till at least the child is three years of age, the main areas of focus of the awareness efforts are; pregnancy nutrition and health guidance, preparation guidance for birth/delivery, breastfeeding and nutritional requirement guidance, infant guidance, child’s digestion guidance and advice on nutritional requirements and the responsibilities of the father.
The sole distributor in the country for Celia is Sunshine Healthcare Lanka Ltd. (SHL), the healthcare arm of the diversified Sunshine Holdings conglomerate – which in addition to healthcare has interests in plantations, tea FMCG, packaging and power and energy.
The Celia product range is developed in partnership with health professionals and follows the latest recommendations from International health authorities (WHO, EFSA). All Celia products are produced at Celia Laiterie de Craon Factory, in West France, following European quality requirements and allowing complete traceability from ingredients to products.
Celia is a French brand developed by an expert in infant nutrition since 1927. Today, Celia is sold worldwide in more than 40 countries. Celia products that are available in Sri Lanka (at leading supermarkets and pharmacies) are directly imported from France by Sunshine Healthcare.
Sunshine Healthcare Lanka (SHL), a fully owned subsidiary of Sunshine Holdings PLC, has been involved in the healthcare business since 1967 – for nearly half a century – after commencing operations as a retail pharmacy. Today Sunshine Healthcare markets over 650 pharmaceuticals, wellness brands, medical diagnostic equipment and surgical products to all pharmacies and hospitals island-wide and accounts for a significant share of the country’s private healthcare sector.
