Central Hospital Ltd, an internationally accredited multi-specialty hospital of the
Asiri Group take pleasure in announcing, that the hospital was certified with the ISO 22000:2005 Standard for Food Safety Management with effect from 9 August. The ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management System Certification is the highest and most recognised food-related certification in the world.
It concentrates on preventing problems related to food safety. Implementation of the ISO 22000 FSMS in our Hospital ensure that there are no weak links in the entire food supply chain. Right from the procurement process to receiving, storing, processing, cooking and delivery to the patients bedsides these standard ensure that the best of hygiene and food safety practices are followed.
As a pioneer in the Sri Lanka’s health care industry, the recognition which we derive from the local and international clientele is now enhanced with obtaining of the ISO standards. We have already provided the adequate resources for the effective operation of Food Safety Management Systems including appropriately trained and qualified personnel, sufficient infrastructure and appropriate work environment to effectively enhance the quality and safety of food that is served to patients who are our valued customers.

SGS Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd. Manager-Systems and Services Certification Batuvita Sumanasiri, presented the ISO 22000 certification to Director Operations Nihal Ratnayake certifying that The Central Hospital has successfully implemented and practice International Food Safety Management requirements.
