Durdans opens Women’s Wellness Centre

Sri Lanka’s first Joint Commission International approved hospital Durdans recently opened doors to its Women’s Wellness Centre.

Specially designed to allow women of any age and health status to align themselves with a healthier lifestyle the centre offers a range of services specific to women.



Women from puberty to menopause have different questions about their bodies and health depending on the stages of their lives.

The Durdans Women’s Wellness Centre provides primary healthcare services for a range of issues specially pertaining to women, and also ensures continuity of service and treatment where specialist opinions are necessary. The centre also provides referrals and coordination of health needs. The aim of the centre is to provide a friendly, holistic and ongoing coordinated healthcare service where a woman can find answers to anything health related that may be troubling her. 



The Women’s Wellness Centre offers services ranging from premarital, sexual and reproductive health, family planning, fertility, lactation, parent-crafting consultation and counselling, minor screening procedures such as pap smears, contraception advice, menstrual and menopause issues and management, weight management, post-natal needs, posture correction, back strengthening, incontinence and other physiotherapy needs, and even cosmetology advice. Open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. and 12 noon on Saturdays, the centre also has the facility to deal with minor surgeries.



The Durdans Women’s Wellness Centre is introducing specially crafted packages for women which would also make an ideal gift for the special ladies in your life. It could also be a gift of good health to you. The Coral, Pearl and Diamond packages include clinical tests, screening and advice depending on the individual’s age, health status, marital status, dietary habits and lifestyle. A special cancer screening health package and gene testing package is also available to assist with early detection.



Run under the expert guidance and advice of Family Physician Dr. Shreen Willatgamuwa and Resident Gynaecologist Dr. Ravini Wijeweera the Durdans Women’s Wellness Centre also has specially trained nursing staff to deal with the delicate issues of women’s health.
