Fairway Holdings helps children with cancer

Fairway Holdings recently donated a substantial quantity of drugs worth over Rs. 1 million to the Paediatric Unit of the National Cancer Institute, Maharagama. The funds were the entire proceeds of the ‘Roots’ reggae concert sponsored by the company.

In a note of thanks, Dr. Prasad Abeysinghe, Consultant wrote that the donation would contribute to the successful treatment of the children without any disruption. “It will benefit the poor children with cancer,” he noted.

“At a time when most of the cancer drugs are very expensive and are out of reach of to poorer people, we thought this would help ease their burden,” said Fairway Holdings Director Neluka De Alwis said.

Fairway Holdings is the company that developed the Fairway on the Waterfront and the Fairmount – Urban Oasis, the environment friendly and socially responsible luxury high-rise apartment complexes in Rajagiriya.

The ‘Roots’ reggae concert in Colombo was a big draw with large crowds enjoying the performance by the Jayasri Twins – Rohitha and Rohan – at the Taj North Lawn. The Sri Lankan reggae enthusiasts were enthralled by the show presented by the internationally acclaimed Sri Lankan duo. They performed along with the band ‘Exotic’.
