Falck introduces globally acclaimed medical clinics to Sri Lanka

Falck, the specialist in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has once again paved way to revolutionise Sri Lanka’s EMS industry with their expansion to Negombo. The Negombo station will be the first to offer a scope of services beyond EMS and the ambulance service and introduces a 24 hour clinic and a pharmacy, marking a significant milestone to the local EMS industry. “Falck has seen a steady rise of inquiries since we started operations indicating a growing interest for EMS in Sri Lanka. As a response to the increased interest, with our latest station we have expanded beyond the concept of EMS and introduced services in a wider scale, ensuring that any patient who requires immediate medical assistance will be given the utmost care. The Falck clinic is a combination of 24 hour accessibility of a hospital in a more relaxed and calm environment, eliminating the need to make an appointment and long waiting time,” said Falck Sri Lanka CEO Jens Poul Madsen. The Negombo station will begin EMS operationsfrom October whilst the 24 hour clinic and pharmacy will be opened in November. The new station is located in close proximity toaprivate hospitals and a government hospitalensuring quick patient transport when required. The new station enables patients to walk-in or make an appointment directly with aqualified General Practitioner (GP) and obtain medical care around the clock, a unique facility offered only by Falck. The clinic will address day to day medical needs such as consultation, medical examinations anddiagnostics.The highly trained staff consisting of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) and Emergency Medical Respondents (EMR’s) will also be involved in the clinic and the pharmacy to maintain Falck’s international service standards. Negombo will be Falck’s fourthstation and will serve as the blueprint for their new service concept ofa 24 hour clinic and pharmacy. All Falck stations are equipped with the latest medical equipment and highly qualified medical professional to provide reliable patient centred care to every Sri Lankan. Using the new station, Falck will engage with the public in the area to raise awareness on the role of EMS in savinginvaluable life and minimising long-term damages to a patient.
