Free plastic surgery at Dr. Neville Fernando Hospital, Malabe

The Rotary Club of Colombo West together with the Rotary District is offering free plastic surgery for those who cannot afford it. This is being done in partnership with Interplast Germany which is sending a group of 11 German medical personnel including plastic surgeons, maxilla-facial surgeons, anaesthetists and nurses; and the state-of-the-art Dr. Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital located in Malabe who are offering their operation theatre facilities free of charge for this worthy cause.
The types of surgeries that will be carried out are cleft-lip palates, burn injuries and hand disabilities.
Patients who are interested in these surgeries are welcome to present themselves at the Dr. Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital located at Millennium Drive, off Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumarathunga Mawatha, Malabe, with their most recent medical records for an initial screening from 10:30 a.m. up to 5:30 p.m. and surgeries starting on 11 November till 20 November. The German doctors plan to carry out a maximum of 120 surgeries during this visit and the surgeries will be done on a first-come first-served basis. The Ministry of Health has issued licenses for the team to perform these surgeries.
