Hemas Hospital welcomes its 2,000th baby

Hemas Hospital recently celebrated the joy of the arrival of its 2,000th baby. When baby Deon Thaveesha arrived under the care of Hemas Hospital maternity team, the management and staff of Hemas Hospital gathered to welcome the baby and to congratulate the proud parents, the de Silvas.

During the past couple of years Hemas Hospital has been recognised in the region as a safe and comfortable place for pregnant mothers and for baby deliveries. The Hospital currently operates with a panel of reputed VOGs, paediatricians and a maternity care team along with midwives who hold immense experience in maternity care and childbirth.

Further, Hemas Hospital is equipped with five ultra modern theatres and private labour rooms which carry the highest standards and technology in the region. It is also equipped with the latest 4D ultrasound scanners and other state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to help and support the pregnant mothers before and during their baby delivery.

Dr. Samanthi de Silva, General Manager and Head of Medical Services, said that Hemas Hospital was the only private hospital in the region to have a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Intensive Care unit (ICU) and a Blood Bank – all of which are essential to run a complete maternity unit for a safe delivery of a baby.

“We are proud to have a maternity team that has handled well over 2,000 baby deliveries during the past three-and-a-half years,” said Dr. de Silva.
